We were approached by Curtis Clarkson, the founder of CMYK Magazine, for a redesign. Their focus was the website and an interactive way to advertise and gain subscribers. The following are slides from our final presentation including some of the research synopses, a new website design, and a smart phone application to fulfill the interactive portion.
This project was used as the foundation for the rebrand of the magazine.

We conducted a survey and this depicts the percentage of student and professional participants as well as their participation in the CMYK design contests. Another goal of CMYK in increasing exposure was to increase the interest and number of applicants to the design competitions.
Our website design was chosen for implementation and the side-scrolling feature also makes it ideal for smart phone interaction.
Yes, that is Kalendar with a "K." We stayed true to CMYK, utilizing the letters when appropriate for an incorporated feel and custom lingo. This Kalendar displays competition dates and deadlines. Reminders can also be set, as well as being able to keep track of your CMYK account and submissions.
Further utilizing the letters provided by "CMYK," we designed this creative game. It is called CMYK Mix-Up. It uses the letters C, M, Y, and K to produce random words beginning with those letters by shaking the smart phone or simply pressing the button on the screen. Those words can be used along with a library of adjectives to create your own mixed up sentence. Then the viewer is to create that sentence in a video and can post it to the application. Other viewers can surf the videos and leave comments. We made demonstration videos you can enjoy below.
For our demo videos we decided to adopt and create personalities associated with the colors cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, and sported the colors for easy identification. See if you can figure out our personalities! I'll give you a freebee - yellow is mellow yellow. Have fun!
